KTU Cares and So Do We!!
On July 11, WKTU (103.5 FM) broadcasted a 30-minute interview about ICL Project Aspire. William Campbell, ICL Project Aspire Project Evaluator and ICL Project Aspire graduate Dana J. spoke with KTU Cares Cindy Vero. Listen to the recording at http://www.ktu.com/pages/events/community.html.

Last month,  ICL celebrated the conclusion of its five-year SAMSHA grant funded Project Aspire program with a festive event held at Brooklyn Borough Hall.  The event served as both an ending and a beginning celebrating all of the 144 women who enrolled in the program, of which over 110 have made the successful transition from shelter into housing.

ICL Project Aspire took place at the CAMBA Park Slope Women's Shelter in Brooklyn. Despite the grant ending, two of the project's initiatives will continue to be offered to shelter residents by newly trained CAMBA staff.  ICL is seeking opportunities to collaborate with other agencies to determine ways in which the program initiatives (Critical Time Management, Wellness Self Management and Seeking Safety) can be replicated and/or interpreted into other programs whose consumers can benefit from ICL Project Aspire's life-changing initiatives.  ICL Project Aspire received the SAMHSA Science and Service award, a national award that recognizes community-based organizations and coalitions that have shown exemplary implementation of evidence-based mental health and substance abuse interventions.
