Recovery from mental illness and substance abuse

ICL operates four community residences in attractive buildings that serve 105 adult consumers in Brooklyn. These transitional residences were specially designed to treat individuals with mental illness, co-occurring substance abuse, and a history of homelessness. These state-of-the art self help therapeutic communities provide case management, mental health, substance abuse services, and vocational services. Experienced professional staff and peer counselors are on site 24 hours each day to support these programs and assist consumers in developing personalized service plans to meet their needs. All Residential Treatment Programs closely coordinate services with ICL's Continuing Day Treatment Program, as well as other community health care and social service providers. Individuals with substance abuse problems are served at a medically supervised OASAS-licensed clinic in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
